The Nature of Transition / Jordy Hewitt

Jordy joins a select group of designers and artists exhibiting in The Nature of Transition, a carefully curated experience set against the historic backdrop of the Fremantle Naval Store. Event presented by Lightly.

Since completing a Bachelor of Fine Art and Design in 2014, Western Australian based painter Jordy Hewitt has exhibited continuously both locally and nationally in solo and group exhibitions and prizes. In all her work, there’s a sense of exploration and investigation of the world around her and within, often examining the changes they contain. Hewitt’s paintings are marked by her development of expressive colour fields through blending and layering with an energy that can feel vexed but also triumphant. Her process is intuitive, contemplative and punctuated with energetic gestures. Her works attempt to delight but also delve deep into human experience and permit confrontation of its complexity.
