Ceramic artist Emma Lindegaard draws inspiration from local landscapes, transforming their subtle energies into tactile, organic forms. Her work captures the essence of transition by reflecting the emotional and narrative shifts of the spaces she engages with. Through negative space and fluid curves, Emma’s pieces offer a unique perspective on the transformation of memory into art.
Emma joins a select group of designers and artists exhibiting in The Nature of Transition, a carefully curated experience set against the historic backdrop of the Fremantle Naval Store. Curated by Cindy-Lee Davies, The Nature of Transition celebrates the connections that emerge between objects, people and the spirited essence of lived environments—an interplay made possible through thoughtful design.

Emma Lindegaard is a ceramic artist and stylist based in Walyalup/Fremantle, Western Australia. Her work, inspired by the local landscape, features negative space, organic curves, and tactile finishes, exploring emotion as a stored memory in the body.
Emma graduated from the West Coast Institute of Training with a Diploma in Events Management in 2012. She founded ‘ELS,’ a boutique event styling studio, and has worked on projects with clients like Vestiaire Collective and Kinfolk Magazine, with features in Harpers Bazaar, Hello May, and White Magazine.
Emma began working with clay in 2017 to refine her creative techniques. Her first exhibition, ‘And Then it Becomes One,’ was in 2019. She curated her first group show, ‘Still, Now,’ in 2021 at Nyisztor Studio and has since participated in various group shows across Perth and Australia.
Melbourne and Fremantle-based studio Lightly has been dedicated to enriching spaces through thoughtful design since 2005.
