Description:Drawing inspiration from ancient Greek symbolism, this work depicts a siren figure—half bird, half woman. Sirens are often associated with themes of hidden knowledge and wisdom, as well as a connection between life and the afterlife.
I was interested in experimenting with the freehand movement of spray paint on a small scale, restricted by the dimensions of the paper while simultaneously governed by the thickness of the spray nozzle. This drawing was completed at the height of a Boorloo summer, and its colours reflect my experience of that time: light, bright summer skies and freshly cut grass.
