Print is Not Dead!
with Dr Erica Mason from Murdoch University School of Media and Communication
Print is Dead? Not even close.
Presented by Murdoch University’s School of Media and Communication, this talk takes on one of digital design’s favourite claims and flips it on its head. We’ll open with the evidence: print isn’t fading, it’s everywhere, more prolific now than ever before.
From there we’ll trace print’s influence across human communication and its quiet hand in some of history’s biggest societal shifts – because paper has shaped the world in ways easy to overlook and impossible to ignore.
Then things get tactile. A representative from Spicers Paper joins us to showcase the extraordinary range of paper being made today, from bold, experimental stock to genuinely sustainable options. Percival Print rounds out the discussion with a look at emerging print technologies and where the industry might head next.
If you’re a little obsessed with paper and everything print can do, this one’s for you – expect insight, inspiration and a few takeaway goodies to boot.
