Nightingale Fremantle: Tour & Sundowner SOLD OUT

with Fini Sustainability and Dimitri Kapetas

Join us for an exclusive tour of Nightingale Fremantle, the first Nightingale Housing development in Western Australia. Designed with sustainability, affordability and community in mind, Nightingale Fremantle represents a pioneering approach to urban living where homes are built for people, not profit.

Led by the project’s designer Dimitri Kapetas, and project manager and sustainability consultant Don Fini of Fini Sustainability, this event offers a unique opportunity to explore one of the 15 thoughtfully crafted homes within the development. You’ll gain insight into the design philosophy that drives Nightingale Housing and learn how these homes are designed to minimise living costs while fostering strong community connections. Residents will join the conversation, sharing their personal experience living in this forward-thinking environment.

The tour will also highlight the development’s two commercial spaces, designed to enhance the connection between Nightingale Fremantle and the broader community, ensuring the development remains a vibrant, active part of the local area.

The event will conclude on the communal rooftop deck, a beautifully designed space that offers expansive views, perfect for enjoying the sunset with a drink and nibbles as we discuss the future of sustainable, people-focused urban living.

Fini Sustainability was founded by Don Fini, a registered builder with qualifications in quantity surveying and over 35 years of experience in the building industry across single and multi-residential housing, retirement villages and commercial developments.

Don’s career began at Fini Group, where he held roles as an estimator, construction manager, project manager and design/documentation manager. His passion for sustainability grew through his work, particularly as he integrated cost planning with design to optimise thermal performance in buildings. Since 2010, Don has been an accredited NatHERS assessor, applying thermal modelling to enhance environmental performance in the built environment.

Dimitri Kapetas has been designing environmentally sensitive buildings in Western Australia for over 15 years. His buildings are informed by a strong ethos: that we all deserve to be able to live and work in a way that is economically, socially and environmentally responsible without sacrificing an appreciation for good design and aesthetic beauty.

He bought the land in 2008 with the intention of developing a medium-density apartment building with environmental sustainability at its core, showcasing social, economic and environmental values. On discovering Nightingale, he recognised an established model with a strong public profile that ticked all of these boxes.

Teaming up with Don Fini from Fini Sustainability, the intention was to provide an example of a way for architects and developers to break from traditional development models while still remaining economically viable.

Dimitri’s work continues to develop and refine this approach to design and development, with the intention to help make these kinds of models standard practice.
