Fremantle fashion designer Jules Weston launches ‘Hickey Scrubs’, the first workwear collection under her fashion label Hickey Hardware. Visit the Namasteam foyer space to view the new collection and shop the pop-up including the full Hickey Scrubs range and select Hickey Hardware fashion pieces.

Thoughtfully designed, the Hickey Scrubs cuts were developed in consultation with clients and peers working in medical spaces where scrubs are the daily uniform. The project centres on acknowledging how much time you spend at work and your comfort and utility needs.

This first collection is for anyone looking for a less typical aesthetic, with full functionality from their Med, Vet, Lab, Beauty or Hospitality work fits. Featuring a selection of original textile prints from the Hickey Hardware archive, alongside block colour compositions, HH Scrubs are consciously produced by hand in small batches in line with slow fashion practices.

Jules is a self-taught illustrator, graphic, textile and apparel designer. Absorbing cutting and sewing skills from Nan, and designing textile prints from experimentation and practice, Hickey Hardware was gently born in 2015. Originally a personal project prompted by a lack of enjoyment in clothes shopping; she designed to solve the common problem of limited sizing, colour and textile options in the fashion space.

The result has been collections of classic, comfortable cuts ranging from swim to semi-formal; delivered year-round in the original signature ‘Verse 2’ Print alongside regular new prints and select block colours.

Hickey Scrubs is a natural evolution for the designer, where she can offer a more interesting, yet comfortable and functional workwear option for those in healthcare, veterinary, beauty and hospitality work places.
