Open Studio / Luka Rey
Tucked behind PS Art Space Gallery is the space where swimwear designer and maker Luka Rey comes to life. See where it all happens.
If you’re curious about how clothes are made, care about local production or simply love a peek inside a working studio, come along and stay a while.
Wander through at your own pace, take a close look at the tools and the work in progress, and ask Luka anything about how a swimsuit goes from flat fabric to finished piece or what it takes to produce something locally, in limited runs.
Look closely and you’ll spot the details that define the label: contrast stitching, distinctive appliqué and carefully considered finishing. You’ll also get to see and feel the materials up close, including Italian fabrics made from ECONYL® regenerated nylon, which is spun from rescued waste like fishing nets and carpet flooring, along with rust proof hardware and natural latex rubber.

Luka Rey
Luka Rey is a WA based studio offering detailed swim pieces that feature contrast stitch and distinct appliqué techniques. Our perspective on design is guided by the making process, with each piece developed individually in our Walyalup studio. We source the best recycled materials and quality hardware to create everyday pieces through limited production runs.
